Emily Follis Ballet is committed to protecting your personal data.


Emily Follis Ballet will process all personal data in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and the General Data Protection Regulation.

1. Collection & Processing of Data
Personal information may be given to Emily Follis Ballet by way of:
(a) online or paper registration forms
(b) via email
(c) via telephone conversation (manually written down)
(d) via text message
(e) website contact forms


This personal information may include your (adult classes)/your child’s (children’s classes) full name, date of birth and any relevant medical conditions; your phone number and email address (adult classes); parent/guardian name, phone number and e-mail address (children’s classes); emergency phone number(s); and preferences.

2. Use of Data
Emily Follis Ballet uses held information:
A. to provide the information and services that a member requests from Emily Follis Ballet
B. to allocate the most suitable ballet class
C. to contact parents/guardians/emergency contacts in the event of an emergency or for any unforeseen circumstance
D. to update parents or adult students with general information relating to the ballet school, classes and upcoming events
E. to enter students for ballet examinations with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD). The RAD will require your (adult students)/your child’s first and last name and date of birth. This information will be used to allocate each student with a unique personal ID number. The RAD does not share you/your child’s personal information with any other organisation.


3. Information Sharing
Your personal data will be treated as strictly confidential and will only be shared with selected third parties when necessary to do so as outlined here.


Emily Follis Ballet may share your information with selected third parties including contracted teachers, administrators and examination boards (e.g. Royal Academy of Dance) as specified above.


Emily Follis Ballet may disclose your personal information to third parties if Emily Follis Ballet are under a duty to do so to comply with any legal obligation (e.g. Social Services).

 

Emily Follis Ballet will not share your details with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Data Storage
A. The data that Emily Follis Ballet collects digitally via registration forms, email, text message will be kept on a private laptop with appropriate security measures in place. Any forms completely manually or details taken from telephone communication will be filed in a secure filing cabinet.


Personal data and consent will be kept for a maximum of six months after a student leaves the ballet school. After this time, all personal data will be deleted.


B. Mailing List - The only personal data collected by Emily Follis Ballet for the email mailing list is an individual’s email address.
Every email sent via the Mailing List includes an “Unsubscribe” option allowing any recipient to immediately withdraw from the list and delete data (email address) held.

5. Personal Rights
It is the right of all individuals to:
- request a copy of your personal data held by Emily Follis Ballet
- request Emily Follis Ballet corrects any inaccurate or out of date personal data
- request Emily Follis Ballet erases your personal data if it is no longer necessary for us to retain such data
- deny Emily Follis Ballet permission to process personal data at any time
- object to processing of personal data


Emily Follis Ballet asks for explicit consent to use any photographs in publicity materials (print or digital). This consent may be withdrawal at any point by emailing Emily Follis Ballet at efballet@gmail.com.
