Terms & Conditions - In Person & Online

The adult classes (in person classes, online classes, class recordings and courses) will begin at a low level and will be advanced in stages depending on your fitness. Please stop immediately if you are experiencing extreme fatigue, feel unwell or unable to participate.

 

If you are unsure if a class is suitable for you, it is your responsibility to consult your doctor. Your teacher assumes no responsibility for injury or illness that may occur through participation in the adult classes (in person classes, online classes, class recordings and courses).

To ensure Health and Safety (especially for online classes, class recordings and courses), it is each participant’s responsibility to ensure:
- they have enough room to participate in the activity without any obvious risk of injury to themselves or others, or risk of damage to surrounding property.
- the flooring in the room is safe for the classes to be undertaken.

By participating in the adult classes (in person or online), class recordings and/or courses, the participant understands that they do so at their own risk and agrees to the terms and conditions

IN PERSON CLASSES

IN PERSON CLASS FEES​

  • In person class fees can be paid in person (cash in a named envelope) or via bank transfer, please refer to your registration or term emails for payment and account information

  • Fees must be paid in full on or before the first day of each new term, or your starting class if you join mid-term

  • If paying in 5-week instalments, these must be paid promptly on weeks 1 & 6 of each term

  • Late fees will be subject to a late fee charge of £10

  • Fees cannot be refunded or deducted in the event you are unable to attend a class or complete a block of classes. However alternative classes or online classes may be offered if appropriate, please ask for further details

 

IN PERSON CLASSES - LOSS OR TERMINATION OF PLACE

Emily Follis Ballet reserves the right to terminate a student’s place if:

  • The student’s fees remain unpaid

  • A student does not adhere to Emily Follis Ballet's Term & Conditions

  • A student behaves in an abusive manner towards a member of staff or another student

  • A student’s behaviour is disruptive or harmful to other students or staff

 

IN PERSON CLASSES - UNCONTROLLABLE CIRCUMSTANCES

  • In the event of extreme weather, illness or other unforeseen events, classes may have to be cancelled. Contact will be made as soon as possible to the class WhatsApp group or individual contact numbers. Please ensure contact numbers are kept up to date throughout the year

  • Cancelled classes will be added to the end of the current term and the length of the final term will be reduced accordingly if necessary

  • In the event of a lockdown or circumstances similar to Covid-19, classes will continue on Zoom 

 

IN PERSON CLASSES - EXAMINATIONS​

  • Emily Follis, PhD, BSc (Hons), RAD RTS is a registered Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) teacher and as such can enter students into RAD examinations

  • Students will be entered into RAD examinations only when they are ready. Progress in class will depend on how focused and hard-working a student is, their ability to retain choreography and technical corrections, and importantly good attendance

  • While most students will take their examination, and find it a positive and rewarding experience, examinations are not compulsory to progress to the next grade level 

  • Additional coaching classes and the exam itself have additional fees. No late examination fees can be accepted after the specified closing date

  • Attendance of coaching classes is compulsory for examination entry

  • Emily Follis Ballet reserves the right to not enter/delay entry/withdraw a student from an examination if they have missed a significant proportion of lessons or coaching classes

IN PERSON CLASSES - HEALTH & SAFETY & INSURANCE​

  • Please use the toilets for changing – please do not use the waiting area for changing

  • Please report any illness or injuries to the ballet teacher BEFORE class

  • If you are ill, especially with any contagious illnesses, please stay at home for the recommended exclusion period to protect other members of the class.

  • If you require any medication (for example asthma or allergies), please bring this into class

  • A full health and safety assessment has been carried out for in person classes

  • Emily Follis Ballet prioritises child protection and safeguarding. Emily Follis Ballet’s Child Protection Policy can be viewed on request

  • Emily Follis holds Dance Teacher's Insurance with AXA Insurance UK PLC

  • Emily Follis is a registered teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD). The RAD requires all of their teachers to abide by a strict code of professional practice and to undertake continuing personal development to maintain their registered teaching status. Emily also holds an Enhanced Disclosure in line with government legislation and a valid First Aid certificate​​​

ONLINE CLASSES, RECORDINGS & COURSES

ACCESSING ONLINE CLASSES, RECORDING LIBRARIES & COURSES

  • Once purchased, online classes, recording libraries and courses can be immediately accessed from the members area of our website or via our app. 

  • For website access - login to your account using the member icon at the top right hand side of the webpage. Navigate through the menu (using the down arrow) and choose the "my programs" page. From this page you will be able to access the classes/libraries/courses that your membership gives you access to.

  • For app access - please ensure you have downloaded the "Fit by Wix" app. On the initial signup, choose the option "got an invite code?" at the very bottom and enter the code JHHDBB to access the Emily Follis Ballet App. You will be able to access the classes/libraries/courses that your membership gives you access to from the "classes and courses" section of the app

  • FOR LIVE CLASSES - please sign in at the class time on Zoom and access the meeting using the login details provided for the class. These will be provided within class library at the top of the current school year​ - e.g. for ballet core classes, access the ballet core class library, click the current year and the zoom details will be at the top of the page. Please email efballet@gmail.com at least 24 hours before the class start time if you need assistance with locating the login details

  • New live class recordings will be added to the class libraries within 5 working days, unless in unforeseen circumstances such as illnesses

PAYMENT FOR ONLINE CLASSES, RECORDING LIBRARIES & COURSES

  • Online classes, recording libraries and courses can be accessed by purchasing one of our membership options - please see the website for further details or email efballet@gmail.com for advice

  • Online courses can also be purchased individually on the "online courses" page of our website

  • There is a 3 day free trial when a person signs up to their first membership with Emily Follis Ballet

  • Memberships are set up as recurring payments and will be charged monthly to the card used when the participant signed up to the membership

  • There is a 2-day grace period on memberships if a later card payment should fail - your subscription will remain active during this period. The payment method will automatically be re-tried during this period to allow you to update your payment method.

  • Please note Emily Follis Ballet has no access to card or payment information as payments are taken through Wix Payments.

PAYMENT FOR 1-2-1 ONLINE COACHING CLASSES

  • Payment is taken via Wix Payments at the time of booking your 1-2-1 coaching session

  • If you need to cancel or amend your booking, please refer to our cancellation and refund policy below

  • Please note Emily Follis Ballet has no access to card or payment information as payments are taken through Wix Payments.​​

CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY

 

We understand that sometimes plans change unexpectedly, we don't want to add to your stress during this time so have set out our cancellation and refund policy below. Please get in touch via the contact form or email efballet@gmail.com if you have further questions or require further assistance, we are happy to help

In Person Classes​

  • In person classes are registered for in advance of each term and, as they are highly popular classes, are subject to limitations on numbers - therefore Emily Follis Ballet is unable to offer "pay as you go" class fees 

  • Term fees (payable in 5-week or 10-week blocks) cannot be refunded or deducted in the event you are unable to attend a class or complete a block of classes

  • However Emily Follis Ballet encourages all adult students to make up any missed in person classes. Alternative class(es) or online class(es) may be offered if appropriate, please ask for further details at your next lesson or email efballet@gmail.com

Memberships

  • Memberships that are cancelled within the 3 day trial period will not be charged. If this happens in error within the 3 day trial period, please get in touch immediately by emailing efballet@gmail.com and we will be happy to arrange a refund for you

  • Memberships that are cancelled after the 3 day period will be charged for the month for the membership they selected at time of payment. Please note memberships are recurring unless cancelled and will be charged each following month if not cancelled

  • If you feel that an Emily Follis Ballet membership no longer suits your needs, memberships can be easily cancelled from your profile on the website to prevent future payments. Login using the profile you created when paying for your membership, navigate to "my subscriptions" and follow the on screen instructions to manage or cancel your subscription.

  • We will be sorry to see you go and hope that you will join us again in the future! If you need assistance, we are happy to help, please get in touch via the contact page or by emailing efballet@gmail.com

1-2-1 Online Coaching Classes

  • 1-2-1 coaching classes are booked on an individual basis

  • We understand that unforeseen circumstances sometimes crop up and are happy to help - please get in contact by emailing efballet@gmail.com if you have to cancel or rearrange your 1-2-1 online coaching class

  • Classes cancelled with more than 24 hours notice will be issued with a full refund or can reschedule their coaching slot free of charge

  • Classes cancelled with less than 24 hours but more than 2 hours notice will be issued a 50% refund or can reschedule their coaching slot free of charge

  • Classes cancelled with less than 2 hours notice will not receive a refund but can still reschedule their coaching free of charge

  • Classes were the student does not show up (i.e. does not login to the zoom meeting or make contact before the session begins) will not receive a refund and will be charged the full price of the coaching slot booked

  • If for any reason Emily Follis Ballet has to cancel or amend a booking (e.g. due to illness) the student can choose between a full refund or can reschedule their coaching slot free of charge
